FAQ
How does the free trial work?
An invited beta gets 7 free days from the moment the invite is accepted. No card is collected during those 7 days, and RentRoll does not create a Stripe customer yet. On day 7 a short survey opens. Finishing it lets you add a card. That Checkout does not charge that day. Access continues through day 10, and day 10 is the first charge day. Skipping the survey does not block subscribing and does not add bonus days. Checkout then charges immediately, the same as a public signup. Leaving the survey unanswered does not open Checkout. Access ends at day 7 until you subscribe. A public signup with no invite has no trial. Checkout charges immediately.
What happens when I add a property?
Adding a property on an active subscription charges $2 per property right away. Your next renewal bills the full new total ($10/mo for the first property and $2/mo for each additional property). Removing a property does not credit the current period. A failed $2 charge uses the same four-day grace window as a failed renewal.
What happens if a payment fails?
RentRoll follows the subscription status Stripe sends, with a four-day grace window. If a renewal payment fails, or the $2 charge for an added property does not go through, the account stays open. RentRoll retries the open invoice once each day. On the third day RentRoll emails that the account will be read-only within the next 24 hours if no payment is received. On the fourth day, if the invoice is still unpaid, the whole account becomes read-only. You can still view and export. You cannot add, edit, import, split, or delete until the payment goes through. Updating the card on file pays every open invoice right away and does not move the billing anniversary. Paying the open invoice restores full access.
Do you offer refunds?
There are no partial refunds and no full refunds. If we make a billing mistake, we correct it and refund the amount charged in error. If you have a billing dispute, please contact support first at [email protected] or use the billing dispute form. We'll review it within 7 business days. Chargebacks may result in account suspension.
Is there an annual plan?
We at Talon Automation provide you with our lowest price from the beginning, excluding certain discounted sales throughout the year.
Is two-factor sign-in required?
Two-factor sign-in is required for every account. After you sign in with your password, set up an authenticator app before you can open the books. Save the backup codes. There is no exception for the operator account.
How do I reset my password?
On the sign-in page, choose Forgot password and enter your email. If an account exists, we email a one-hour link. The new password follows the same rules as sign-up, including a check against known breached passwords. After a reset, sign in with the new password and your authenticator code or a backup code. Resetting the password does not turn off two-factor sign-in.
What is Portfolio overhead?
Leave this unchecked for a real rental. Check it only to make a catch-all for costs shared by all your rentals, like software or a home office.
